How Title Loans Work in South Carolina
A car title loan lets you borrow against a vehicle you already own. The title is the collateral: a lien is recorded on it while the loan is open and released when you pay it off. You keep the car and drive it as usual the whole time.
Because the vehicle secures the loan, approval rests mostly on what the vehicle is worth and whether your income covers the payments. Your credit score matters much less. That is why title loans are used for urgent costs like repairs, medical bills or rent when a bank says no.
Can I Get a Title Loan Online in SC?
Yes. South Carolina residents can complete the entire loan online: application, verification and funding. There is no office visit and no vehicle inspection. You FedEx the title to us. To qualify, you need to be an adult South Carolina resident with a vehicle titled in your name in the state where you live, plus a way to repay.
A traditional job is not required. Income we can consider includes:
- Wages and salary, including shift and overtime pay
- Self-employment, gig and delivery income
- Retirement and pension income
- Social Security and disability benefits
What You Need to Apply
- Vehicle title in your name. If it is not, or the title is lost, the SC Department of Motor Vehicles (SCDMV) can transfer it or issue a duplicate.
- Valid photo ID, such as a South Carolina driver's license.
- Proof of income: pay stubs, a benefits letter, or bank statements showing deposits.
- Vehicle details for the application: year, make, model and mileage.
Having these ready is the best way to get approved and funded quickly.
How Much Can I Borrow?
Your loan amount depends on your vehicle's value (year, make, model, mileage and condition) and on how much your income can comfortably repay. Tell us the amount you want on the application, and we will show you what you qualify for. Borrow only what you need, and check the loan example below to see how the payments add up.
How the Money Reaches You
Once you are approved, your money can arrive as soon as the next business day, and sometimes even the same day. There is nothing to pick up and no office to visit. Timing depends on when your documents and signed paperwork are complete. Not every application is approved.
Risks to Weigh First
Title loans cost more than bank or credit union loans. The sample loan below has a 300% APR. Your vehicle secures the loan, so missed payments can lead to repossession. Use a title loan for a short-term need, have a repayment plan, and call us before a due date if you expect trouble. There is never a penalty for paying early, which is the easiest way to save on interest.

Frequently Asked Questions
Getting Started
What is a car title loan?
It is a loan secured by a vehicle you own. The title is the collateral, so a lien is recorded on it until the loan is repaid. You keep the car and keep driving it the whole time.
Can I do the whole loan online?
Yes. South Carolina residents can apply, verify and get funded without ever coming to an office. You fill out the online application, we verify your information online and by phone, and you FedEx the title to us.
Does it cost anything to apply or see if I qualify?
No. Sending the online application is free and does not commit you to anything. You only take a loan if you are approved and decide to sign.
Where do you lend?
Anywhere in South Carolina. Our business location is in Loris, but customers from Charleston to Greenville and from Rock Hill to Hilton Head Island apply online and never need to travel.
Why would someone choose a title loan?
People usually use one for something urgent: a car repair, a medical or utility bill, rent that is due before payday. A title loan can be approved on the strength of your vehicle and income even when your credit is weak.
Qualifying
Do I need good credit?
No. Little credit, bad credit and no credit history are all fine to apply with. The decision rests mainly on your vehicle and your ability to make the payments.
Do I need a job?
You need a way to repay, not necessarily an employer. Wages, self-employment, retirement, Social Security or disability income can all count as long as you can document it.
Can I qualify if I am retired or on disability?
Yes. What matters is that you have a steady source of income that covers the payments.
What do I need to apply?
Have these ready: the vehicle title in your name, a valid photo ID, and proof of income such as pay stubs, a benefits letter or bank statements showing deposits. Our team will tell you how to send them.
Does the title have to be in my name?
Yes. If it is not, or you have lost it, the SC Department of Motor Vehicles (SCDMV) can transfer the title or issue a duplicate before you apply.
Does my vehicle have to be titled in the state where I live?
Yes. The title should match the state you live in. If you are traveling out of state, the paperwork still has to be signed in your home state.
Your Vehicle
Do I have to bring my car in for an inspection?
No. There is no inspection and no need to bring the car anywhere. South Carolina residents verify online and FedEx the title to us.
Do I keep driving my car?
Yes, you keep 100% use of it. We do not hold or store your vehicle. Just keep up with the payments.
Does my car have to be paid off?
Not always. On newer vehicles we can sometimes roll the last couple of payments into the title loan. Tell us what you still owe when you apply.
Do you make motorcycle title loans?
Yes, with some conditions. The underwriter will go over them with you when you review the loan.
How much can I borrow?
It depends on what your vehicle is worth (year, make, model, mileage and condition) and on how much your income can comfortably repay. The online application asks for those details and the amount you want, so we can tell you what you qualify for.
Approval, Funding & Repayment
How fast is approval?
Most applicants are pre-approved within minutes of applying. Final paperwork usually takes about 15 minutes of your time once your documents are in.
When will I get the money?
Once you are approved, you can get your money as soon as the next business day, and sometimes even the same day. Timing depends on how quickly your documents and signed paperwork come in.
Do I have to come to an office to get my money?
No. Approved funds are deposited, so there is nothing to pick up and no office visit required.
Is there a prepayment penalty?
No. You can pay extra or pay the whole loan off at any time with no penalty, and interest is charged only while you have a balance. Some lenders charge for early payoff; we never do.
Are there other fees?
There is a $15 lien recording fee, which is forwarded to the Department of Motor Vehicles to record the lien on your title. The loan example on this page shows the APR, payments and total interest.
What happens if I cannot make a payment?
Call us before the due date. A title loan is secured by your vehicle, so falling behind and not paying can put the vehicle at risk of repossession. We would much rather talk through your options early.
